We found on AliExpress at a great price the first console of the QDR brand, specialized in controllers, the QRD Vortex F5 that comes with horizontal design and very good ergonomics.
A console that highlights its 5.5-inch screen with a good resolution that allows us to play without straining the eyes. We also have a microHDMI video output to connect it to a large screen, a very interesting extra in a console of this price. As engine, we have the Rockchip RK3566 processor, which allows us to run the included emulators up to PSP, N64, PS1 and Dreamcast, plus many more of other consoles 8 and 16 bits. Its operating system is Linux, with an EmuELEC distribution that boots fully configured to start playing.
Its dimensions are quite compact at 22.3 x 10.3 x 3.5 cm, and it weighs 333 grams, making it quite portable.
QRD Vortex F5 Specifications
This new handheld console is powered by a Rockchip RK3566 SoC manufactured in 22nm. This processor is a Quad Core with low-power 64-bit ARM Cortex-A55 cores reaching up to 1.8 Ghz, with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU and an NPU for iA with a power of 0.8 TOPS. It is a good option for loading simple PC games in the Portmaster add-on.
This retro console includes 1 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and for storage and booting the LINUX system we have 8 GB eMMc and two micro SD card readers with support for up to 512 GB.
Display and other notable features
The screen mounted on the QRD Vortex F5 console is an IPS OCA with a size of 5.5 inches (ca. 14 cm) and a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
