The R36H retro console is a horizontal laptop that inherits much of its hardware from the vertical R36S, one of the bestsellers of AliExpress and of which you can read our review.
This retro console continues to use the Rockchip RK3326 processor and a 3.5-inch screen with the same resolution and vertical format. Logically, we have changes in the layout of controls where we see a crosshead at the bottom, something that will not please many.
As operating system we have a 64 GB micro SD with a distribution of LINUX ArkOS with more than 20 emulators, so it is mandatory to make a backup of this micro SD card, as it is the one that boots the console. Micro SD which is also filled with thousands of games.
R36H Specifications
This portable retro console is powered by the Rockchip RK3326 processor. A Quad Core chip with ARM Cortex-A35 processors capable of reaching a maximum speed of 1.5 GHz. On the graphics side we have a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU that performs quite well within its logical limitations.
This console has integrated 1 GB of RAM DDR3L and comes with a micro SD card with 64 GB used to store the system and games, reader supports cards up to 512 GB capacity.
Display and other features
The R36H has a 3.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 640×480 pixels. The internal battery has a capacity, of3000 mAh capable of giving us an autonomy that will be between 6–8 hours, and we can recharge it through a USB Type-C port.
The rest of the connectors are a 3.5 mm audio jack, USB Type-C OTG connector and two micro SD card slots. For the sound we have a single speaker and for controls we have two analog joysticks, crosshead, seven buttons, four triggers.
