This is a console in vertical format, controlled by the Rockchip RK3326 processor and carrying Linux as operating system, with the aim of optimizing to the maximum this chip capable of moving even some PSP games. A retro handheld with a configuration quite similar to that found in the Powkiddy RGB20S, as we find the same processor and a 3.5-inch screen with the same resolution. Note that for this console there are different alternative firmwares such as AmberELEC, essential because they improve substantially over the factory version that is far behind in all aspects.
As operating system we have a 64 GB micro SD with a distribution of ArkOS with more than 20 emulators, so it is mandatory to make a backup of this SD card which is the one that boots the console. A Micro SD that is also filled with thousands of games.
R36S Specifications
This compact portable retro console is powered by the Rockchip RK3326 processor. A Quad Core chip with ARM Cortex-A35 processors capable of reaching a maximum speed of 1.5 GHz. On the graphics side we have a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU that copes quite well within its logical limitations.
This console has integrated 1 GB of RAM DDR4 2666 Mhz and comes with a micro SD with 64 GB used to store the system and games, reader supports cards up to 512 GB capacity.
Display and other features
The screen of the R36S is an IPS with a size of 3.5 inches (8.89 cm) and a resolution of 640×480 pixels. The internal battery has a capacity of 2900mAh capable of giving us an autonomy that will be between 6-8 hours, and we can recharge it through a USB Type-C port.
The rest of the connectors we find are a 3.5 mm audio jack, USB Type-C OTG connector and two micro SD card slots. For the sound we have a single speaker and for controls we have two analog joysticks, crosshead, seven buttons, four rear triggers.
