Xiaomi has just presented in China its new Redmi 14R 5G, a terminal of the cheap range with 5G connectivity and which is basically a variant of the Redmi 4C.
A terminal in which it stands out in its design, its round photographic module and its screen refresh configurable up to 120 Hz, not bad for a smartphone of its Range. In addition, thanks to its 5G Qualcomm® Snapdragon X61 modem, we have the latest connectivity, something unusual for its price.
The operating system of the Redmi 14R 5G is Android 14 although we have the common Xiaomi HyperOS layer. As always, this brand guarantees long-term updates, something to keep in mind when planning a purchase.
Specifications of the Redmi 14R 5G
In the Redmi 14R 5G, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, an Octa Core manufactured in 4nm, is chosen as the engine. Inside we have two clusters, the most powerful with 2 ARM Cortex-A78 that reaches 2.2 Ghz and a second with 6 ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach 1.95 Ghz. The GPU is an Adreno 613 that reaches 955 Hz speed.
For RAM variants have been presented with 4/6/8 GB LPDDR4X although we can expand it virtually up to 24 GB with storage memory. For storage we have 256 GB UFS 2.2 that we can expand via micro SD slot up to 2 TB.
Its display is a 6.88-inch In-Cell IPS with an HD resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels, 600 nits brightness, 120 Hz refresh, 20.5:9 aspect ratio and includes light and proximity sensors.
For selfies we have on the front a 5 MP camera that complements the 13 MP rear camera with flash and autofocus that is supported by a secondary low resolution camera. We also have a fingerprint reader, 5G/4G LTe connectivity with Dual SIM, Dual Band Wifi aC, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and GPS 4 in 1 for precise positioning anywhere.
As for connection interfaces, in this Redmi we find on one side a USB Type-C 2.0 OTG port for data and recharging and a 3.5 mm audio jack in case we want to connect headphones. The battery is 5160 mAh with 18 W fast charging.
Price and where to buy
- The new Redmi 14R 5G for the moment has gone on sale in China for a price starting at 140 € in its most economical model. We assume that it will be released in global version and will surely appear soon on AliExpress.
