The REDMI Note 15 5G SE, a Special Edition of this popular smartphone, has just been launched in the East. It appears that the changes are primarily focused on its body, which is 7.35 mm thick and weighs 180 grams.
This is a mid-range 5G device with fairly decent specs, featuring an AMOLED display and an Octa-Core Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. This chip is powerful enough to run most apps and games smoothly and, for reference, scores around 630,000 points on Antutu V10.
Finally, the operating system is Android 15 with the brand’s custom UI, Xiaomi HyperOS 2, and the device has a fairly robust build, featuring IP66 certification and reinforced bezels to withstand drops.
REDMI Note 15 5G SE Specifications
The SoC chosen for this new REDMI device is a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, an octa-core chip manufactured on a 4 nm process. This chip features 4 ARM Cortex-A78 processors clocked at up to 2.4 GHz and 4 ARM Cortex-A55 processors clocked at up to 1.8 GHz. On the graphics side, it features an integrated ADRENO 710 GPU with a maximum frequency of 1010 MHz, allowing for smooth gameplay even in demanding titles.
The onboard RAM is 6/8 GB LPDDR4X, allowing us to load multiple apps or browser tabs. For storage, we have options of 128/256/512 GB UFS 2.2, expandable via microSD card up to 1 TB.
Display and other features
The REDMI Note 15 5G SE features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels, a peak brightness of 3200 nits, and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and it is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass. On the camera front, it features a 50 MP Omnivision OV50D main rear camera supported by a 2 MP monochrome secondary camera and an LED flash, while the front houses a 20 MP camera.
For audio, there are two speakers, and the battery is a 5800 mAh unit with fast charging up to 45 W and reverse charging at 18 W. For connectivity, it features Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, 5-in-1 GPS, and a 5G modem with dual SIM support. For ports, there is a single USB-C 2.0 port; the fingerprint reader is integrated under the display; and for audio, there are two speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos.
