The Redmi Watch 5, the most complete member of Redmi’s 5 family of smartwatches, has just been unveiled and is expected to arrive in the West soon.
A model that is the evolution of the Redmi Watch 4 and maintains features such as GPS and AMOLED screen. Its design is quite continuist lines, with a robust body made of aluminium with 2 mm bezels. The screen this time is a 2.07-inch AMOLED touchscreen, and for control it also has a small rotating crown. Interesting is the presence of a vibration motor that has 20 unique vibration modes that can be used to notify events and reminders.
As a system we have Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 with support for the Alexa voice assistant and the possibility, among many more things, to change its aesthetics with more than 200 screen designs. For configuration and data control we have the Mi Fitness (Xiaomi Wear) app, and we will also have a variant with eSIM to make calls from it autonomously.
Redmi Watch 5 Specifications
This new smartwatch has a rectangular body with a 2.07-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 432 x 512 pixels, 60 Hz refresh and a maximum brightness of 1500 nits. Its chassis features 5 ATM resistance, which makes it suitable even for swimming, and we have an integrated ambient light sensor.
In terms of sensors, this new smartwatch has improved capacity to measure heart rate thanks to a new AFE sensor, SpO2 blood oxygenation, sleep, sedentary lifestyle and stress. The Redmi Watch 5 monitors up to 150 sports activities, has wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, own GPS and walkie-talkie mode by synchronizing it with our smartphone or using the model with eSIM.
Internally, we have a 550 mAh battery capacity, which gives us an autonomy of approximately 24 days, giving it a normal use.
