PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Package content
The MPOW D6 smartband arrives in a small white cardboard box, inside we find the basic components that accompany this device. With the MPOW D6 a very clear English manual is delivered and within this manual we have several QR codes to download the remote control app for Android or iOS, these app are found in Spanish and other languages.
We can see a comparison of the capabilities of this smartband compared to the competition, certainly has some interesting points especially for the price it has.
The bracelet of the MPOW D6 has a fairly conventional design following the lines of this type of products, simple forms and strap completely made of silicone. In the sensor capsule we have a capacitive button that allows changing between the functions of the menus.
The 0.87″ OLED screen with 128×32 pixel resolution allows you to read the data indoors perfectly, outdoors is somewhat more difficult to see with lots of light, a screen size much larger than that of the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 and With more resolution, a positive point for this bracelet. The classic buckle closure works well, the bracelet is fastened tightly if we like.
If we disassemble the core of the bracelet we can see the USB connector integrated in the plastic mold of the body, in this model we have IP67 certification and it seems that it works quite well because in our tests the device supports the water with no problem.
MANAGEMENT AND CONFIGURATION OF THE DEVICE
Frontal screen
When you turn on the main screen of the MPOW D6 smart wristband we have basic information, we can directly access its functions using its unique touch button on the front. In the watch we have battery indicator, date and a Bluetooth connection icon if we are linked with our mobile. The wristband also gives us incoming call alerts with the contact’s name, apps like whatsapp, alarm and alarm announcements, all with vibration. If we leave the button pressed, we access the menu to start a physical activity or turn off the wristband completely.
The screen can be configured from the app in three different positions depending on the hand in which we have the bracelet.
If we press the button we can go to the pedometer, heart rate measurement, distance traveled and calories calorie counter. By default the screen turns on automatically when it detects that we turn the hand to look at it since it has a gyroscope although it can be deactivated.
Control application
We can use the MPOW D6 by installing the app for Android or iOS from the official stores of these devices. In the first screen we have three panels with basic and detailed information. We have a panel dedicated to cardiac measurement that by default is done every 15 min if we want. To use this app we have to create a user account that will save our data in the cloud.
- This model is NOT compatible with Google Fit
- It has support to unlock phones with Smart Lock
A final panel measures general activity and also has access to monitor a sports session for a period of time.
In the settings section we have several options that give us access to our personal settings, bracelet settings, alarm and hardware data. Within the option of our user profile we will put our physical data and the objective of movement that we want to achieve daily.
In the menu of the pulsar MPOW D6 we have options for reminders, find the mobile, screen orientation, software update or reset. We also have the option to configure the reminder system for certain apps.
Cardio sensor
As we see in the back of the MPOW D6 we have a heart meter that works quite well for what we have able to check. We can run a punctual measurement from the device itself, from the app or schedule it so that it takes a specific measurement from time to time, something that is useful for monitoring.
Battery
Installed in the MPOW D6 wristband we have a 90 mAh lithium battery that gives us a lot of autonomy, in a moderate use of the screen (we recommend deactivating the automatic turn on when turning the wrist) it can last us perfectly 9 days with a single charge and the recharge is very fast. The control app does not involve problems in the battery of our mobile as have checked.
CONCLUSIONS
After doing the review and using it for a week we can say that the MPOW D6 (DS-D6) wristband has some very interesting features for the price, a good rival against the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. The autonomy is quite correct although it has nothing to do with the model of Xiaomi and is not compatible with Google Fit. The heart sensor has given us correct results in daily use and monitor sports and sleep without problems. The software has we have checked does not cause problems in our mobile and we also have it in various lenguajes. Another interesting point of this bracelet is its design since the compact mold with integrated USB makes the IP67 protection quite efficient. In general, a recommendable product if we look for something resistant and economical.
