We already have available in stores the latest Android Box for digital signage from RKM, its RKM DS03 that includes a hardware design and specific functions for advertising applications.
A Box that includes a metal case to promote cooling and this time includes the powerful Rockchip RK3399 SoC that we have already seen in many development boards. Its firmware has options such as screen rotation and automatic power off/on, which are widely used in digital signage, and inside we find connectors for LVDS, touch screen, microphone and others. We also have the option to buy it with a 4G-LTE modem that allows you not to depend on Wifi networks, like the RKM DS02 that we saw some time ago in one of our reviews.
SoC, RAM and storage
Inside the Box RKM DS03 we find the Rockchip RK3399 SoC, a six-core with a cluster with two ARM Cortex-A72 processors capable of reaching 2.0 Ghz and another cluster with four ARM Cortex-A53 processors, with respect to GPU it has an ARM Mali-T860 MP4 with support for decoding H.26 /H.264 and VP9 4K@60fps codecs among others.
It also has on board 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can expand by adding a memory card in the micro SD card reader included in the box.
Other features
For network connectivity this TV-Box includes Wifi aC with dual external antenna and a Gigabit network connector, optionally we can replace the Wifi module with a 4G-LTE modem with a micro SIM card slot. On the back of the case we have all the connectors with 2 USB 2.0 ports, a USB Type-C 3.0 OTG, 3.5 mm audio jack and a HDMI 2.0a video output port.
Finally comment that the OS is Android 9.0 and includes among the accessories an infrared remote control.
