Samsung has just introduced its new Octa Core SoC for mid-range smartphones the Exynos 7904. A new chip that this time puts its accent on photography as it includes support for up to three main cameras with multiple serial effects such as bokeh or panoramic mode. A SoC specially created for emerging markets such as Hindu and with a reduced price that makes it suitable to compete with the most economical Chinese chips.
Samsung Exynos 7904 is an Octa Core manufactured in 14nm FinFet that includes 2 ARM Cortex-A73 processors of high performance capable of reaching 1.8Ghz and 6 ARM Cortex-A53 processors that reach the 1.6Ghz more efficient and intended for common tasks. The GPU is a ARM Mali-G71mp2 with support for FHD+ screens up to 2400 × 1080 pixels and capable of encoding video up to 4K @ 30fps resolutions. It also has compatibility with RAM memory LPDDR4x, storage eMMc 5.1 and includes GPS, FM radio, WiFi aC and Bluetooth 5.0. The modem as it could not be otherwise is compatible 4G and LTE Cat.12 with a maximum download speed of 600 Mbps and upload that reaches 150 Mbps.
- The new Samsung Exynos 7904 SoC is already being mass-produced although at the moment there is no terminal announced with this new Samsung chip.
