The 5G begins to be a reality in the Smartphones since the great manufacturers of SoC’s accelerate their plans to have these new high-speed networks within all their processors. Samsung joins the battle of 5G with its new Exynos 980 Octa Core SoC a chip that points to the popular mid-range that is manufactured in 8nm FinFET with high-end details as it is capable of encoding and decoding 4K UHD video at 120fps and It has support for HDR 10+ with dynamic mapping.
The Samsung Exynos 980 SoC is an Octa Core with 2 ARM Cortex-A77 processors capable of reaching 2.3Ghz + 6 ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach up to 1.80Ghz while the GPU is an ARM Mali-G76 MP5 and of course , includes an NPU for AI tasks. This SoC has support for LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.1 and eMMC 5.1 storage memories. It is also capable of supporting screens with resolutions up to 3360 x 1440 pixels and a camera up to 108MP. Its 4G / 5G modem is capable of reaching 2.55 Gbps in download and can even reach 3.55 Gbps using a dual mode with 4G and 5G at the same time.
