We already have news of the new SoC of the China Spreadtrum brand, one of the partners of Intel that presents its new chip Spreadtrum SC9863 a Soc aimed at mid-range smartphones. An Octa core SoC that as main novelty integrates new ARM Cortex-A55 cores that have a significant improvement in performance with respect to the old ARM Cortex-A53, arround the 20%. How could it be otherwise the AI has an important place in this new SoC with algorithms for improving photography, automatic ordering of our photo gallery or for augmented reality.
The new Spreadtrum SC9863 SoC includes eight ARM Cortex-A55 processors capable of reaching 1.6Ghz while at the GPU level we have no data at the moment. It also includes support for screens up to resolutions of 1080 × 2160 pixels (FHD+) and integrates a 4G-LTE modem Cat.7 compatible with Dual SIM, dual-VoLTE and VoWiFi. At the photography level it adopts a dual ISP with support for double camera of up to 16MP and that has improvements in the processing of photographs with low light and capable of adding multiple effects in real time (Beauty Selfie …)
The base operating system will be Android 8.1 and will include facial recognition features by default.
- At the moment we do not have date of the actual arrival to the market of Spreadtrum SC9863 although we suppose that we will see it at the end of this same year.
