Under the name of TANIX-W2 we find another Android Box with a reduced price and based on the AMlogic S905W2 SoC, the king of the economic range.
The TANIX-W2 does not add much as a novelty within the cheap range, it already includes Android 11 as a system, we have AV1 video decoding up to 4K@60fps resolutions and support for HDR 10+ technology. Its processor is very interesting within its price range, as you can see in our review of the S905W2, and it is especially suitable for multimedia playback up to 4K, running apps and IPTV streaming.
Remember that this type of Chinese Box is not recommended for viewing payment platforms such as Netflix, since it lacks certificates to view them in maximum video quality.
TANIX-W2 specs
Inside the TANIX-W2 TV Box we have the Amlogic S905W2 SoC manufactured in 12nm as its heart. This processor is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and a MALI-G3 MP2 GPU. A sufficient processor to use streaming apps, KODI, IPTV and some simple 3D loaded games that, as always, is cooled by a fanless heatsink, so we do not have any noise.
In this Android Box we have soldered on board, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, 16 GB of eMMc storage memory. We also have a micro SD format card reader located on the side of the black plastic case that allows us to increase its internal storage capacity.
Other features
As for wireless connectivity within the TANIX-W2, we have two variants, one with Wi-Fi b/g/n and the other with Dual-band Wi-Fi aC with internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.2. In the connectors section, this Smart Box includes a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0, HDMI 2.0b video connector, SPDIF digital audio output, 10/100 network connector and finally an analogue audio and video output port.
It also includes among the accessories a simple infrared remote control, power supply and all the necessary cables to start it up right out of the box. On the front of the plastic box we have a small LED screen.
