The new HONOR X80i, a 6.6-inch smartphone, has been unveiled in China; it is the first device we’ve seen featuring the new MediaTek Dimensity 6500 Elite SoC.
This device from HUAWEI’s sub-brand stands out for its design, featuring bezels just 1.23 mm wide, which means the screen occupies 95% of the smartphone’s front. Its body is IP66-certified and has a 5-star SGS rating, guaranteeing drop resistance from heights of up to 1.8 meters, and it weighs 185 grams—which is impressive considering it packs a 7000 mAh battery .
As we’ve already mentioned, this HONOR model debuts the MediaTek Dimensity 6500 Elite, which appears to be an overclocked version of the MediaTek Dimensity 6400. The operating system is Android 16 with the MagicOS 10 overlay, which incorporates AI-powered features and long-term updates.
HONOR X80i Specifications
This HONOR is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6500 Elite processor, manufactured in 6 nm by TSMC. This processor is an octa-core chip with 2 ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.6 GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. The iGPU is an ARM Mali-G57 MC2, which will handle most games on medium settings with ease.
The RAM is 8/12 GB LPDDR4X, and for storage, we have options of 128/256/512 GB of high-speed UFS.
Display and other features
The display is a 6.6-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2600 x 1200 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate ,and a maximum brightness of up to 6500 nits.
On the front, there is an 8 MP camera, and on the back, a 50 MP main camera. It also features Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, IR sensors, GPS, a 5G modem with eSIM, and two speakers. In terms of connectivity, it features a USB-C 2.0 port, and the battery is a 7000 mAh unit with fast charging up to 44 W and reverse charging.
