Topton E4, the original mini PC and NAS with four 2.5G Ethernet ports

Today we find an original mini PC and NAS with the name of Topton E4, a box that offers numerous ports and stands out for its two fans.

Inside this small machine designed to be used continuously as a server and NAS, it is possible to mount two NVMe drives and externally a large capacity SATA HDD. Among the connectors it offers, it is undoubtedly notable for the four 2.5G Ethernet ports, with which we can distribute any content on our network at maximum speed. As an operating system we can install a Linux distribution, such as OpenWRT to use it as a soft router and also Windows 11. But it can also be used as a multimedia center for our living room TV or directly as a desktop PC.

As processors, we have two options, Intel Core i3-8130U and Intel Core i5-8250U. Curiously, we have not opted for Intel N100 or similar, something that would be much more efficient.

Topton E4 Specifications

This new mini PC and NAS has two variants, one with the Intel Core i3-8130U Dual Core with four threads up to 3.4 GHz and the more powerful Intel Core i5-8250U Quad Core with eight threads at the same speed. These processors allow us to use the device as a server at a good level depending on the load.

For RAM we have two SODIMM DDR4 slots that allow up to 64 GB. For storage we have 2x M.2 2280 PCle3.0 and an external SATA connector for an additional hard disk.

Other notable features

It includes an M.2 slot for a BT Wifi card with four holes for external antennas. In the rear area we have four Ethernet 2.5 GB ports for use as a high-speed router. In addition, we have three USB 3.0 connectors, SIm slot, micro SD reader, HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 video outputs with 4K@60fps HDR support and a DC power connector.

Ideal hardware to install Linux, OpenWRT, iKuai, LEDE or even Windows 11 if we want to use it with more conventional desktop apps.
