We found on AliExpress a new passive mini PC called TOPTON X4H-XL, an ideal machine for continuous use as a server or NAS.
A computer with solid aluminum case that mount two processors. We have a version with the low power Intel N100 which is totally passive. If we want more power we also have the version with Intel Core i3-N305 with which we can mount a top fan to ensure cooling. On the motherboard we find a good amount of connection options and ports, as well as remote or programmed power on capability.
We have two 2.5G Ethernet ports and its optical SFP network connectors that reach up to 10G are undoubtedly outstanding. A hardware to set up a data network at maximum power, we can also use it as a NAS, as a Proxy, for VPN and use it to manage network security.
TOPTON X4H-XL mini PC Specifications
For this compact mini PC we have several options, the passive one with the popular Intel N100 Quad Core and the more powerful one with an Intel Core i3-N305, both manufactured in 10 nm. This last chip is an Octa Core with eight threads, speed up to 3.8 GHz. The GPU is an Intel Core UHD GPU with 32EU that reaches a speed of 1.25 GHz. In the upper area we can mount an optional fan if we are going to opt for the most powerful CPU and will have a lot of load.
This mini PC can be purchased in barebone format, but we also have versions with different RAM and storage. On the board we find a slot for a SO-DIMM DDR5 module up to 4800Mhz. For storage we have a connector for SSD M.2 NVMe 2280, a mini PCIe 3.0×1 port and space to mount a SATA 3 for a 2.5″ drive.
Other notable features
As for wireless connectivity, we have the option of mounting an internal adapter with a Wifi, Bluetooth or 4G module on its M.2 connector. On the perimeter of the case we find four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.1 Gen1, two 2.5G network ports another two optical SFP connectors up to 10G (Intel 82599ES), two simultaneous HDMI 2.1 video outputs with support for 4K@60 HDR video output.
This mini-computer internally has COM ports for industrial connections and is compatible with Windows 11 and Linux and includes an external power supply and grounding. Optional VESA support is available, as well as PXE and WOL remote power among other options.
