The TOX5 Lite is a new TV box that, as is typical for this brand, comes with interesting system modifications for some users, providing extra capabilities for managing SAMBA networks, as well as ROOT and AFR control.
This TV box is powered by the latest Amlogic S905X5M quad-core processor, manufactured on a 6-nm process, which is significantly more efficient than the Amlogic S905X4 and much more powerful, as you can see in our review.
This SoC comes with 2 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of eMMC storage. If you want to expand the storage, you can use the included microSD card reader.
In terms of wireless connectivity, the TOX5 Lite features Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.1. The ports included on its plastic case are two USB 2.0 ports, a gigabit Ethernet port, and an HDMI 2.0 video output supporting resolutions up to 4K@60 FPS.
This TV box runs on Android 14 with several interesting features, although it does not have DRM certificates for Netflix and similar services—unlike the Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen, which uses the same processor—so it is not suitable for use with paid streaming platforms. It’s also worth noting that this brand regularly releases firmware updates for its media boxes.
