The Transpeed AV1 is a new Android Box that we find today in stores that has the new Amlogic S905W2 SoC as an engine as a novelty to point out.
This is a slightly inferior processor to the S905X4 in computing power and graphics, as we have seen in our S905W2 review. As a system we find Android 11 and in terms of hardware we have a normal configuration for being a cheap range Box. A box that is generally suitable as a 4K Android player, but keep in mind that it does not have certificates to play Netflix content in maximum video quality, and it stays in SD+.
This device is capable of decoding the AV1 codec up to 4K@60fps resolutions and with HDR 10+, although it is left without Dolby Vision that reproduces it but downgrades to basic HDR, although this is currently a little-used format.
Transpeed AV1 specifications
The Box Transpeed AV1 integrates the new Amlogic S905W2 SoC as its heart, a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and a MALI-G3 MP2 GPU. This processor is enough to use streaming apps, IPTV applications, KODI, games and some emulators for systems without much power needs.
In this device, it integrates configurations with 2/4 GB of DDR3 RAM, 16/32/64 GB of eMMc storage memory. We also have a micro SD format card reader located on the side of the plastic box that allows us to easily increase its internal storage capacity up to 128 GB.
Other features
As for wireless connectivity, inside the Transpeed AV1 we have a Dual Band Wi-Fi aC chip with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.2. In the connectors section, this Android Box includes 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.1 port, SPDIF digital audio output, micro SD card reader, 10/100 network connector and finally an analogue port for audio and video output.
We have in the same package a simple infrared remote control, power supply and all the necessary cables to start this Box right out of the box.
