We have already announced the TRIMUI Smart Pro S, a portable console with improved controls and a new processor that promises to be up to 2.5x faster than the previous one with better cooling.
This is an improved version of the popular TRIMUI Smart Pro, of which you can read our review, where the processor is improved with an affordable SoC Octa Core Allwinner A523, a chip with low power consumption ARM Cortex-A55 processors very common in low price tablets. A chip where it is possible that many PSP, Dreamcast and Sega Saturn titles work without many problems. We also have other improvements, such as wireless connectivity, as we now have Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.
As a system we find LINUX and Trimui UI system that is receiving updates from the brand, although surely we will have many alternative systems developed by the community as in the previous model.
TRIMUI Smart Pro S Specifications
This new version includes the Allwinner A523 processor manufactured in 22 nm. This chip is an Octa Core with low-power 64-bit ARM Cortex-A55 processors reaching up to 1.8 Ghz, with a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU and an NPU for iA with a power of 0.8 TOPS.
The RAM memory is 1 GB LPDDR4 and for storage we find 8 GB eMMC. We also have a slot for micro SD cards up to 1 TB where we can store games.
Display and other notable features
The horizontal display of the TRIMUI SMART PRO S is an IPS with a size of 4.96 inches (ca. 13 cm) and resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The internal battery is5000 mAh capable of lasting up to 5 hours of gameplay according to the brand and is recharged by a dedicated USB Type-C port. For wireless connectivity we have Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.
As for controls, we have a configuration with an analog crosshead, two analog sticks with RGB ambient lighting, four triggers, start, select, menu and function key. The connectors are two USB Type-C ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack. This console also has a vibration engine for compatible titles, gamepad support and two 1 W speakers.
Price and availability
- The new TRIMUI Smart Pro S will soon be available for purchase on AliExpress for a starting price of around 90 € although it will certainly not take long to go down.
