In our usual walk through the Chinese online stores we came across a new TV-Box called TV96. This time based on the SoC Quad Core RK3328 of Rockchip and that as of late is standard includes a remote control with microphone that seems to allow us to perform voice searches. The operating system is Android 8.1, we do not know if in its Android TV version since the publicity is a little confusing and regarding its specifications little to comment because they are nothing special. A basic Chinese TV-Box with little appeal.
SoC, RAM and storage
The TV-Box TV96 features as engine the well-known Quad Core SoC Rockchip RK3328 that integrates ARM Cortex-A53 processors and a Mali-450mp2 GPU that includes native H.265 and VP9 video decoding up to 4K @ 60fps resolutions with support for HLG HDR. We also find 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16GB of eMMc storage memory that can be expanded by adding a memory card to the included microSD card reader. A SoC that defends itself well as a multimedia player and with KODI but with a GPU a bit fair for some 3D games of the latest generation.
The wireless connectivity of this TV-Box is just right since it has b/g/n WiFi with internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.0. On the sides of the plastic box we find the interfaces of this box, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0, 10/100 network connector, analog AV jack, SPDIF digital audio output and an HDMI 2.0a port with support for resolutions of even 4K @ 60fps.
