Ugoos AM6 a Box with the new AMlogic S922X SoC presented

TV-Box brands with Android are in a hurry to position themselves in the market with the new top-end SoC of Amlogic S922X. If a few days ago we discovered the details of the Beelink GT-King today we have the details of the Ugoos AM6 that appears naked at the moment and lets us see its interior. The first thing that comes to mind is its internal fan and heatsink intended to cool Amlogic’s SoC, something we preferred that it was not present. In terms of its configuration, we especially like the RSDB WiFi aC module that promises good performance in this point.

SoC, RAM and storage

The Ugoos AM6 includes the Amlogic S922X SoC, a Hexa Core manufactured in 12nm with 4 ARM Cortex-A73 processors capable of reaching 1.8Ghz + 2 Cortex-A53 RAM processors that reach 1.9Ghz. The GPU manufactured in 16nm is an ARM Mali-G52 MP6 with a maximum speed of 846MHz compatible with OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulkan 1.0 that allows us to run powerful games like PUBG without problems.

At the VPU level we have the Amlogic Video Engine (AVE-10) with all types of HDR support, Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR10, HDR10 +, HLG, PRIME HDR and support for REC709 / BT2020 profiles. We also have digital audio DAC integrated in the audio aspect. The RAM memory is 2/3/4GB LPDDR4 and the storage in principle is of the eMMc type with an expandable capacity of 8/16/32GB thanks to a microSD card reader that we have on one side.

Other features

In terms of wireless connectivity the Ugoos AM6 has Wi-Fi aC RSDB and Bluetooth 5.0 (Chip Ampak AP6398S). At the level of interfaces we have in the perimeter of the plastic box 1 USB 3.0 port, three USB 2.0 OTG, Gigabit Ethernet connector, SPDIF digital audio output, an HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm jack for analog audio and video.
