We already have on AliExpress a new Smart Box with the Amlogic S905X4 SoC, the UGOOS AM7, a box that this time distances itself from the usual Chinese ones in many details, although at a much higher price.
The operating system of the UGOOS AM7 is the latest, as we have Android 11 with various improvements added by Ugoos as #root selector, gamepad assistant, AFR, SAMBA server and others. Of its hardware highlight its WiFi 6 with dual external antenna, Gigabit Ethernet or its multiple connectors. A good alternative for those who are looking for a quality 4K media player or who are going to use the important software improvements that this Russian brand incorporates. This TV-Box does not have certificates for streaming services.
SoC, RAM and storage
The UGOOS AM7 Smart Box includes the AMlogic S905X4 SoC, a Quad Core manufactured in 12 nm with low-power ARM Cortex-A55 processors that theoretically reach 2 GHz speed and integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU includes 4K@60fps, HDR, HDR10 and HLG support.
We have different versions with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of eMMc storage and a micro SD card reader.
Other specifications
In the field of wireless connectivity all its versions have Wifi 6 aX with two external antennas and Bluetooth 5.0. The connectors included in the plastic box are a USB 2.0 port, three USB 3.0, analog AV jack, a USB Type-C OTG, SPDIF digital audio output, Gigabit Ethernet and an HDMI 2.1 video output.
As usual the HDMI cable, power supply and a Bluetooth remote control with voice and gyroscope functions are included to be able to use this Smart Box from the first moment, although we have other options with different remote controls.
