Today we look at the recent TV-Box UGOOS SK4, a 4K media player that draws our attention to the inclusion of the Quad Core Amlogic S905X5M-J processor, big brother of the Amlogic S905X5M.
The processor Amlogic S905X5M-J, which is more powerful than its predecessor, the Amlogic S905X4 and includes in this version support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. A greater power that is noticeable in the new Mali-G310 V2 GPU that doubles its graphics power, as you can see in our review. A Box that stands out in the rest of its hardware for its good network connectivity, with Wi-Fi 6 and RJ45 Gigabit port and 4 GB of RAM.
The operating system of this Box is Android 14 and has NO DRM certificates to watch Netflix and the like in high quality. In this case the Android version is the modified tablet with many extra settings for audio, video, network, and Superuser function as we are used to this brand. A different TV-Box although at a fairly high price, something we are accustomed to this brand.
Ugoos SK4 Specifications
In this new Android Box we find in the Amlogic S905X5M-J processor, manufactured in 6 nm. It integrates ARM Cortex-A55 processors with a power of 30K DMIPS and a new ARM Mali-G310 V2 iGPU. We also have support for native decoding of H.265, AVS2, VP9 and AV1 codecs with resolutions up to 4K@75fps 10 bit, compatible with HLG, HDR10 and Dolby Vision technologies.
We have a single version of this Box with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB of eMMc storage. If we want to expand the memory, we can use a USB port that we have on the side of the box.
Other notable specifications
In the wireless connectivity section, the Ugoos SK4 includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. The connectors included in the plastic box are a USB-C port for power, a USB 2.0, a USB-C, Gigabit network port, SPDIF digital audio output and an HDMI 2.1b video output with 4K@75hz resolution.
As usual, a power supply and a Bluetooth remote control is included, which has a microphone for giving commands with Google Assistant, airmouse function and an infrared sensor with various programmable keys.
