We can now book another TV-Box with high-end Android called Ugoos UT5 Pro a large equipment that stands out externally for its large metal box, its front led panel and its three large external WiFi antennas. This time inside the Ugoos UT5 Pro the company has chosen the Rockchip RK3399 a powerful Hexa core SoC that we have seen in other review but with somewhat poor results, we hope Ugoos has a software perhaps more well designed than what we have seen so far. This TV-Box undoubtedly highlight for his internal bay where we can install an SSD as a mechanical hard drive of up to 8 TB capacity.
SoC, RAM and storage
Ugoos UT5 Pro includes the Hexa Core RK3399 SoC with a cluster of 2 ARM Cortex-A72 processors capable of reaching 2.0Ghz and a second cluster with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors; the GPU is a Mali-T860mp4 with support for decoding H.26 / H.264 and VP9 4K @ 60fps codecs among others. It also integrates 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, 32 GB of storage memory, expandable by the existing microSD port and an internal SATA bay for units up to 3.5 “up to 8TB cooled by a fan.
Connectivity and other features
At the level of wireless connectivity the Ugoos UT5 Pro includes an AP6359S chip that integrates wiFi aC and Bluetooth 4.2. As for connectors on the front we have a USB Type-C port and two audio connectors while in the back we find a USB3.0, a USB Type-A, two USB2.0 ports, Gigabit network connector, output SPDIF digital audio and an HDMI 2.0 video output. The operating system is Android 7.1 and includes an IR remote control in the basic package.
