The new entry-level vivo Y500i smartphone has just been released in China, offering fairly competent hardware for its price and 5G network connectivity.
Inside its IP69-rated body, we find the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, with 5G connectivity and manufactured in an efficient 4 nm process. This integrated chip scores around 410,000 points on AnTuTu v10, which is more than enough for basic use, especially considering that it has DDR5 RAM and high-speed UFS 3.1 storage.
Its configuration features a generous 7200 mAh battery with 44 W fast charging, something that is often not found even in higher-end devices. The operating system is Android 16 with the OriginOS 6 layer, which integrates various iA functions.

Vivo Y500i specifications
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC is an Octa Core manufactured in 4nm. Inside, there are two clusters, the most powerful with two ARM Cortex-A78 processors reaching 2.2 GHz and the most efficient with six ARM Cortex-A55 processors reaching 1.95 GHz. The GPU is an Adreno 613 reaching 955 MHz.
This smartphone comes in different versions with 8/12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128/256/512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage memory, expandable via a micro SD card slot that carries the SIM card reader.
Screen and other features
This Vivo has a 6.75-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1570 × 720 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a brightness of 1200 nits, and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. It has a 5 MP front camera for video conferencing, which complements the 50 MP main camera and LED flash.
It also has Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, Bluetooth 4.2, an IR sensor, GPS, NFC, a fingerprint sensor on the power button, and a 5G modem with Dual SIM. The battery is 7200 mAh, compatible with fast charging up to 44 W, and it has a USB Type-C connector. In terms of audio, it has a pair of speakers.
Price and availability
- The new vivo Y500i has just gone on sale in China for around €185 at the current exchange rate, although it will surely appear on AliExpress soon.
