Judging by all the Chinese TV-Boxes that we are seeing lately it seems that the new Amlogic S905W SoC is entering with force in the market. Remember that this new Chip is a trimmed version of the well-known Soc S905X aimed at playing video at 1080P. The new TV-Box today is the Wechip V8 a classic TV-Box in all aspects, the hardware configuration is not new but price is very low.
In the Wechip V8 TV Box we have the SoC Amlogic S905W as motor, it has four ARM Cortex-A53 64bit CPU cores with a speed of up to 1.5GHz and a Mali-450mp5 GPU that can also decode 4K video, although it only reaches the 30fps. Integrated in the board we find 1/2GB ram RAM memory, 8 / 16GB eMMc storage memory and WiFi b / g / n (no Bluetooth). As for connectivity we find two USB 2.0 ports, microSD card reader, 3.5 “SPDIF jack, an HDMI 2.0a, 10/100 network port, analog output for audio and video.
The operating system is Android 7.1.2 and as always we have an IR remote between the included accessories.
