The TV-Stick format has practically fallen into oblivion due to its limited connectivity options and the warming that some models had, however from time to time a Box appears in mini format like the X2 CUBE. This Smart Box has dimensions of only 11 x 6.20 x 2.20 cm with what for most of the small spaces will not be a problem. Inside we have as fundamental piece a last generation S905X2 SoC of Amlogic that together the 2GB of RAM guarantees us a good functioning at the level of multimedia player. The price however is not mini, since it costs what other Box with 4GB of RAM.
Basic Review
The X2 CUBE is an Smart TV Box with enough hardware for normal use and that multimedia can play 4K @ 60fps files of the latest generation h.265 / VP9 / HDR with KODI or IPTV and streams Netflix in SD basic quality. If you want to see Netflix and other services in maximum quality consult our list of models with Android TV, Netflix 4K, HBO and others. The S905X2 processor allows us to use the apps without problems and run powerful games like PUBG in good quality. This brand has no known support where to turn and we will surely stay with the stock Android.
SoC, RAM and storage
The Smart TV-Box X2 CUBE includes the Amlogic S905X2 SoC, a Quad Core chip that reaches up to 1.8GHz and integrates a GPU ARM Mali-G31 MP2 rather more powerful than the Mali-450 and that takes a VPU for video playback TruLife Gen8 with specific hardware for encoding and decoding. We have 2 GB of LPDDR4 RAM memory and 16 GB of eMMc storage memory that can be extended from the microSD card reader that includes this box in one of the sides of its plastic box.
Other specifications
The Mini Box X2 CUBE includes wireless connectivity Wifi Dual Band with a small external antenna. The connectors included in the plastic box are few, just a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0, SPDIF digital audio port, a gigabit Ethernet connector and HDMI 2.0 video output.
The installed system is Android 9 Pie in its classic version and we have an IR remote control among the accessories.
