For a long time we had not had any new TV-Box model equipped with the popular Amlogic S905X3 Quad Core SoC and today to break the trend we found the Box X88 PRO Mini.
The X88 PRO Mini is the typical low-priced Chinese multimedia box that we can use without problems as a multimedia player up to 4K resolutions in Apps like KODI and even for games thanks to its GPU. We do not recommend it to view paid streaming platforms and as always the version with 4GB of RAM is better.
SoC, RAM and storage
The Smart Box X88 PRO Mini includes the AMlogic S905X3 SoC, a Quad Core manufactured in 12nm with ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach 1.5 GHz of speed and that also integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU is an Amlogic Video Engine 10 with HDR Dolby Vision, HDR10 +, HDR10 and HLG support. This Box mounts 2/4 GB of base DDR3 RAM and 16/32 GB of eMMc storage memory that can be expanded from the micro SD card reader included on the side of the box.
Other specs
In the field of wireless connectivity, we find Dual Band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 integrated in the board for the version with 4 GB of RAM and only Wi-Fi b / g / n for which it has 2 GB of RAM. The connectors included in the plastic box are a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0, AV connector, SPDIF port, 10/100 Ethernet and an HDMI 2.1 video output.
In this TV-Box we have Android 9 operating system and a basic IR remote control is included as standard with which we can use this box from the first moment.
