X88 PRO PLUS a new box version with RK3368PRO SoC and Android 9.0

The new TV-Boxes range based on the “new” RK3368PRO SoC are arriving to the stores, this SoC is an update of the SoC RK3368 from the year 2015 that adds support for USB 3.0, HDR10 / HLG and also has Android 9.0 as a system. The name of this Smart Box is X88 PRO PLUS and we do not predict much success in the market since it is in the price range of the boxes equipped with the modern Amlogic S905X3 SoC,with better hardware.

SoC, RAM and storage

The X88 PRO PLUS has as its main element a RK3368PRO SoC, a new Octa Core with ARM Cortex-A53 processors that reach 1.5 Ghz and also integrates a PowerVR SGX6110 GPU with native H.265 and VP9 codec decoding among others . It also includes on board 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and has versions with 32/64/128 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can complement with the included microSD card reader.

Other specifications

The wireless connectivity of this Smart TV Box includes Bluetooth 4.0 with WiFi aC Dual Band in its versions with 64 and 128GB of storage and Wifi b/g/n in its version with 32GB. At the connector level we have on the sides of the plastic case a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0a port, SPDIF digital audio connector, RJ45 10/00 network port and an analog audio and video output jack 3.5mm
