An unusual Android TV stick has been announced under the name X96 MAGIC a compact device that, despite its small size, offers a wide range of ports.

X96 Magic Ports

Powering this stick is the new Amlogic S905X5-M Quad-Core SoC , the same one used in the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2nd Gen. This hardware is backed by 2/4 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32/64 GB of storage. This stick can be used as a 4K video player, for emulation, and for Android games. However, it will not be certified for paid streaming apps, as it lacks the necessary DRM. For that, you’ll need other devices with Google TV.

The included connectors are two USB-A 2.0 ports, a micro SD card reader, an HDMI 2.1 video output with 4K@60fps resolution, and two USB-C ports for power or data. For connecting to networks, it features Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4. By default, the stick comes with a Bluetooth remote control with a microphone for issuing commands via Google Assistant.

A small device that can be used to watch any content in 4K quality with AI-SR upscaling, as a small 24/7 server, and for many other purposes thanks to its powerful Amlogic SoC. Finally, the operating system is a modified tablet version of Android 14, which also allows for comfortable use with a mouse.
