New Box of the cheapest range that appears by AliExpress called X96 mini 5G that includes the recently launched low-end SoC AMlogic S905w4.
In a new Chip that makes the leap to the manufacturing process in 12nm, suitable to reproduce content in FHD resolution and of which you can see its details in one of our reviews. The X96 mini 5G is a Smart Box with few pretensions, with simple and basic hardware, it lacks Bluetooth connectivity, Android 9.0 as the operating system, although at least it already includes support for HDR 10 / HLG technologies.
SoC, RAM and storage
The TV Box with Android X96 mini 5G integrates as its heart the new Amlogic S905W4 SoC, a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.2Ghz and a MALI-450 MP5 GPU that reaches 750Ghz. It has 1/2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8/16 GB of eMMc storage memory and a micro SD card reader located on the side of the black plastic box that allows us to increase its internal storage capacity.
Other features
Regarding wireless connectivity, we have Dual Band Wifi aC with internal antenna and it does not have Bluetooth 4.0. In the connectors section, this mini Smart Box includes 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.0 port, SPDIF audio output, micro SD reader, 10/100 network connector, infrared port extension and finally an analogue port for audio and video.
Also included in the box is a simple infrared remote control, power supply and all the necessary cables to get it started right out of the box.
