Another budget range Box arrives on AliExpress, this time called X96 NEX, and it is governed by the recent Quad Core Amlogic S905Y5 processor.
This is the typical Chinese box with the classic rectangular design and a small LED front panel that only stands out for carrying the integrated Amlogic S905Y5 that promises to be 21% faster than its predecessor, the Amlogic S905Y4. An increase that is a significant improvement for the S905Y series of budget processors, where it skips ARM Cortex-A55 cores from ARM Cortex-A53.
The operating system is Android TV 14, includes a remote control with microphone and as always better not expect updates many updates for this cheap TV-Box, although we possibly have some of this brand.
Specifications of the X96 NEX
In this Android box we find the Amlogic S905Y5 Quad Core SoC, manufactured in 6 nm. Inside we have encapsulated 4 ARM Cortex-A55 processors with a power of 20K DMIPS and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 iGPU.
