The X96Q Plus is a low-priced TV-Box that we find today on AliExpress, an entry-level device based on the Allwinner H616 processor.
This is a generic Chinese Android Box where the novelties are conspicuous by their absence and that comes with Android 11 as operating system. It only stands out in the RAM and storage section, since at least it has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage in its most economical version.
The X96Q Plus is a box that can be useful as a media player by installing the KODI media player or to use all kinds of apps including games, emulators, and others. To use it with paid streaming apps it is not the best option, as it is limited to low resolution in most services as it does not have any of the necessary certificates. For paid streaming, we recommend other options.
X96Q Plus TV-Box Specifications
The Box X96Q Plus includes the Allwinner H616 Quad Core SoC manufactured in 28nm. A chip that integrates ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.8 Ghz and an ARM Mali-G31mp2 GPU with support for OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulkan.
This Smart Box is available in variants with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32/64 GB of eMMc storage memory. We can expand the storage thanks to the micro SD card slot included on one of its sides, where we can theoretically insert up to 64 GB capacity cards.
Other outstanding features
In the field of wireless connectivity, we only have Wi-Fi b/g/n with internal antenna, as it does not have Bluetooth. As connectors, we find in its plastic box not too many options with 2 USB 2.0 ports, a 10/100 network connector, audio and analogue video output jack and an HDMI 2.0a video output port capable of outputting 4K resolution.
Among the accessories that come with the X96Q Plus we find an IR remote control to start using this Smart TV-Box just by taking it out of the box and connecting it to our TV.
