X98K Pro, new Android Box with SoC Quad Core Rk3566

Today we found on the great AliExpress store a new Chinese Android Box called X98K Pro, which this time comes with a Rockchip Rk3566 processor.

This chip is a regular in the world of Chinese game consoles, but has not been seen almost nothing in the world of TV-Box. A SoC suitable to be used as a multimedia player due to its good specifications and even for games or emulators thanks to its GPU, superior to the one we have in the Amlogic S905X3 and S905X4 chips. We highlight its configuration, its 4 GB of RAM and its Wi-Fi 6 connectivity that comes with an external antenna, which will always be good to improve reception. An option not valid for paid streaming apps like Netflix where we have other alternatives, but for apps like KODI or IPTV.

X98K Pro Specifications

This Android Box is powered by Rockchip’s RK3566 processor manufactured in 22nm. This SoC is a Quad Core with low-power 64-bit ARM Cortex-A55 processors reaching up to 1.8 Ghz, with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU and an NPU for iA with a power of 0.8 TOPS.

RAM is 4 GB DDR3 and storage is 32 GB eMMc. We also have a micro SD card reader so if we want to expand the internal storage.

Other notable features

In the field of wireless connectivity includes Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 with a small external swivel antenna. The connectors we have in this case are a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, SPDIF digital audio output, 10/100 Ethernet port and an HDMI 2.0a video output with support for resolutions up to 4k@60Hz.

Included with this box is an HDMI cable, power supply and a Bluetooth remote control with microphone for using voice assistants.
