Today we find in the Gearbest.com store a curious TV-Box called X99. A team that besides integrating the Hexa Core RK3399 SoC includes a slot for SIM card, so you can guess in a picture of its interior, is located next to the microSD card reader. This TV-Box include a modem although we do not know its complete specifications since they do not appear anywhere. The price of this device is quite high, one more track that would indicate the presence of this internal modem, a very unusual equipment for a TV-Box and that will undoubtedly be useful for some user or project.
At the hardware level, the TV-Box X99 integrates the Hexa Core RK3399 SoC with a cluster of 2 ARM Cortex-A72 processors able to reach 2.0Ghz and a second cluster with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors; the GPU is a Mali-T860mp4 with support for codec decoding H.26 / H.264 and VP9 4K @ 60fps among others, a SoC that we have tested in several reviews with somewhat poor results. It also integrates 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, 32 GB of eMMc storage memory, Wi-Fi with internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.1. At the connectivity level in addition to the SIM slot we find a USB Type-C port for data and power, a USB 3.0 port, SD card reader, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI 2.0, Gigabit network connector and SPDIF digital audio output .
The operating system of the X99 is Android 7.1 and among the accessories we found included the typical IR remote control.
