Xiaomi 12 now on sale with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and 870

We already have with us the new top of the range smartphone from Xiaomi for this 2022, the new Xiaomi 12 (without the Mi tagline). A terminal of extreme power and high performance on all fronts.

This new smartphone available in three versions, the two most powerful Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and another cheaper one called Xiaomi 12X with the Snapdragon 870 SoC that is still very interesting. In addition to the processor we have differences also in the AMOLED screen they mount and in the amounts of RAM or storage they offer us.

Another highlight of these new smartphones are the sensors of their cameras that will undoubtedly give us very good results, something usual in this range of Xiaomi. We must also highlight the Wifi 6 connectivity, the fast charging system has 120 W and the battery capacity in all its variants.

Xiaomi 12 specifications

In the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro models as we say we find the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with ARM Armv9 architecture and manufactured in 4 nm. It has the new Kyron Octa Core CPU with a Cortex-X2 based main core up to 3.0 GHz, three high-performance Cortex-A710 cores at 2.5 GHz and four low-power Cortex-A510 cores up to 1.8 GHz. In the graphics section we have an Adreno 730 GPU that allows us to move everything to the maximum.

In the Xiaomi 12X offers us the also powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. An Octa Core manufactured in 7nm, which reaches up to 3.2 GHz in one of its ARM Cortex-A77 cores, has three other ARM Cortex-A77 cores and four low-power ARM Cortex-A55 CPUs. In the graphics section we have an Adreno 650 GPU with OpenGL 3.2 and Vulkan 1.1 support.

For the RAM section we have variants with 8/12 GB LPDDR5 and for storage 256/512 GB high-speed UFS 3.1. We have Wifi 6 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2 (5.1 for Xiaomi 12X) and a USB-C port in addition to integrated NFC. The Xiaomi 12 and 12X variants with 4500 mAh battery allow fast charging up to 67 W while the Xiaomi 12 Pro with 4600 mAh battery offers up to 120W.

As a screen in the 3 models we have AMOLED technology up to 120 HZ and Gorilla Glass Victus protection, in the Xiaomi 12 and 12X versions we have a size of 6.28 inches with 2400 x 1080 pixels, and in the Xiaomi 12 Pro we have a size of 6.73 inches with 3200 x 1440 resolution.

If we look at the cameras on the Xiaomi 12 and 12X we have a 50 MP f/1.88 main camera, 13 MP ultra wide angle and FOV of 123 degrees f/2.4 and another 5 MP tele-macro. In the Xiaomi 12 Pro version we have 50 MP f/1.9, 50 MP ultra wide-angle and FOV of 115 degrees f/2.2 and another 50 MP macro. The front camera is 32 MP in all versions.
