Xiaomi Mi Box starts receiving the official update to Android TV 9 Pie

After going through several beta phases, the final version of Android TV 9 Pie for the Xiaomi Mi Box S model is starting to be distributed. For now we don’t know if the classic Xiaomi Mi Box enters this update. The system, it seems, is very similar to the last beta 3 where all the main functions were already working.

This update Android TV 9 Pie Official with compilation number PI.2231 brings us improvements in the interface and new security patches for the system. Within the system we find officially installed the version of Amazon Prime Video 4.13.4 that works without the problems of compatibility theoretically, although as we know many of our users reported problems with Android TV 8, perhaps with updated certificates they no longer reproduce these problems.

  • You can leave your comments regarding the reception of the update and its operation.
  • We will update soon with more data after a period of use.

Changelog

  • Android TV 9 Pie optimized
  • Performance improvements
  • Enhanced anti-virus system
  • NOTE: If Chromecast does not work after installing the Update, clear cache + data from the Chromecast app and reboot.

I am VERY unimpressed with the update! My remote is not working since the update and no matter what I do, the remote is not picked up by the box to pair (or unpair in an attempt to re-pair)

Google assistant is not responding via microphone.

If you were using the Google Assistant via the mic in the remote, you may want to pass on this. Yeah, did 2 resets. No joy.
