We already have on sale the new compact projector Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector 2 in its Global version with Android TV, an update of this popular compact projector that improves some of its specifications.
This projector now includes Android TV 9 as operating system and in terms of hardware and design we do not see any major changes from the first version with its compact size of 115x150x150 mm. A projector quite far in quality from other Chinese products that we usually see around here, has Full HD projection resolution, supports Dolby sound, DTS, 3D video and HDR and includes a remote with voice functions to be able to use Google Assistant.
Projector specifications
In the Mi Smart Projector 2 we have a DLP technology optics with a native resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, a brightness of 500 ANSI Lumens and contrast of 5000:1. The focus and keystone correction are automatic and we can get a screen ranging from 60 to 120 inches with a projection distance ranging from 1 to 4 m. This projector also includes 2 speakers of 10W power each.
Connections and other features
The new Mi Smart Projector 2 includes as core a Quad Core Amlogic SoC, but we do not know yet exactly its version, it has 2 GB of RAM DDR3 and 16 GB of storage memory eMMc. If we want to increase the storage memory we will have to use the USB port of this projector.
This projector also includes Dual Band Wifi and as a novelty Bluetooth 5.0, while in terms of connectors we find an HDMI 2.0 port, a 3.5 mm audio jack and finally a USB 3.0 port. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector 2 has all the necessary certificates for streaming like Netflix in HD quality, it also has Chromecast and Google Assistant system that we can use through the included Bluetooth remote.
