Xiaomi Mi TV Stick officially pass the US FCC certification and is already announced in a Xiaomi store, specifically the Mi Portugal. The version on sale fits the MDZ-24-AA certified, which is focused on playing streaming content with maximum resolution FullHD and comes with very basic specifications that certainly do not shadow the current Xiaomi Mi Box S.
Like all certified Android TV devices this TV-Stick has Chromecast function, it also allows you to play streaming content such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO and others, but only in maximum Full HD video quality. In the Bluetooth remote control we can see the dedicated buttons to launch Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, the operating system will be Android TV 9 and will have Dolby and DTS audio certificate.
SoC, RAM and storage
As shown in the official Xiaomi Mi TV Stick data this device only reaches FullHD resolutions, it mounts the AMlogic S805Y SoC that reaches 1.2 GHz. This SoC is a Quad Core manufactured with ARM Cortex-A53 processors and an ARM Mali-450 MP3 GPU up to 750 MHz. In this new Xiaomi Stick we are left with only 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage something too basic that will limit multitasking.
As for wireless connectivity we have Wi-Fi aC Dual Band and Bluetooth 4.2. Given its small size we have only a front HDMI connector and a micro USB port for power. It includes a Bluetooth remote control with a microphone for Google Assistant that we can launch from the dedicated button in it.
