We already have all the information Xiaomi Mini Host, (Xiaomi XM22AL5S) the first mini PC of this brand that has selected Intel as the main engine in its landing in this sector.
The new Xiaomi Mini Host is presented in its first version with the Intel Core i5-1240P processor, a chip that has the Intel Iris Xe GPU that far exceeds the previous Intel HD Graphics. A small surprise because it was expected according to rumors the integration of an AMD 6000 APU, although this version may appear in the future. As we have seen these new GPUs allow us to run demanding games at 1080/720p resolutions and you can see the results in the review of a similar mini PC as is the Beelink Sei12.
Undoubtedly a very attractive point of this mini PC is its aluminum case, with a very neat aesthetic as we are accustomed to this brand. Otherwise a fairly normal specifications within this type of computers.
Xiaomi Mini Host Specifications
The new Xiaomi Mini Host mini PC offers the Intel Core i5-1240P processor manufactured in 7 nm with a consumption of 20/64 W TPD. This chip has 12 cores, four high-performance and eight low-power, in total can handle 16 processes and reaches up to 4.4 GHz. As GPU we find an Intel Iris Xe with 80 EU. With this processor we will have no problems to move any design app at a very good level or perform demanding tasks in calculations.
Inside the case we have 16 GB of Dual Channel DDR5 RAM installed in its 2 SODIMM slots and can be expanded up to 64 GB. For storage we find a 512 GB SSD M.2 NVMe PCie 4.0 2280 and it seems that we do not have space for a 2.5″ disk.
Other features
In the networking section we have an internal M.2 card with Wifi 6e + Bluetooth 5.3 and a 2.5 GB Ethernet port. As connectors we find distributed between its front and rear two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, three USB 3.2 ports, a USB 3.0, another 2.0 3.5 mm audio jack and 2 HDMI 2.1 video outputs capable of resolutions up to 4K@60Hz.
As operating system installed we have Windows 11 Pro although we can install Linux. A small external power supply is included and on the perimeter of its case we have many ventilation slots to expel air from its internal fan, the dimensions are 112×112×38 mm and weight 437 g.
Price and availability
- The Xiaomi Mini Host miniPC will soon be available at an approximate price in China is $500. It will certainly not be long before it will be on sale on AliExpress.
