Xiaomi has just officially unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro tablets in China, products designed to top the sales charts in their sector.
Naturally, there’s a significant leap in performance, with the Pro version featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the more affordable model equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which will also perform admirably. This new evolution of the brand’s successful formula refines its design to achieve an extremely slim metal unibody chassis just 5.8 mm thick, a lightweight of 490 grams, and also features an upgraded camera module. As usual, it features a high-capacity battery and a high-quality display.
Both tablets come pre-installed with the HyperOS 3 operating system based on Android 16, featuring enhanced desktop functions and advanced split-screen multitasking. They are compatible with the new suite of official accessories, which includes the low-latency Focus Pen and a magnetic keyboard with a built-in trackpad.
Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro
In terms of performance, the main difference between the two models is that the Xiaomi Pad 9 features the efficient Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, paired with either 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. For its part, the Pad 9 Pro variant makes the leap to the absolute high-end by integrating the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, backed by up to 16 GB of RAM and ultra-fast UFS 4.0 storage of up to 512 GB, a combination that guarantees maximum fluidity in demanding games, 4K video editing, and on-device AI tools.
The multimedia capabilities of the lineup debut spectacular 11.2 and 12.5 inch LCD panels with a 3.2K resolution (3200 x 2136 pixels) in a 3:2 aspect ratio, an adaptive refresh rate of 144 Hz, a maximum brightness of 800 nits, and Dolby Vision certification.
Battery Life and Connectivity
Finally, there are also key differences in battery life tailored to each user’s profile. The Xiaomi Pad 9 features a generous 8,850 mAh battery with 45W fast charging, while the Pro model boosts the capacity to 10,000 mAh and supports 67W ultra-fast charging.
In terms of connectivity, both models feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port with video output, and a set of four stereo speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos.
