New TV-Box that arrives to Chinese stores under the name of Y PLUS and that incorporates as Android TV operating system based on Android 7.1. Interestingly, this new equipment includes a S905X SoC as a engine that at least is capable of playing video files up to 4K @ 60fps resolutions, something that the SoC S905W can not do that lately is dominating the low cost market. As it is the norm in this type of products, we have a remote with microphone which we can use on AndroidTV to do voice searches.
SoC, RAM and storage
The Y PLUS includes as core the S905X SoC from Amlogic that has four CPU cores ARM Cortex-A53 of 64 bit capable of reaching up to 1.5GHz and a GPU Mali-450mp5. Integrated on the board we find 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16 GB of eMMc storage memory that can be expanded by installing a memory card in the microSD slot that includes this equipment on one of its sides.
Other specifications
At the level of wireless connectivity we find only WiFi b/g/n with internal antenna. In terms of connectivity, the plastic box includes two USB 2.0 ports, microSD card reader, an HDMI 2.0a, 10/100 network port, SPDIF digital audio output and to finalize an analog port for audio and video
