The Smart Box X88 King arrives in stores, this is one of the few mediaplayers so far in stores with the latest generation S922X SoC from AMlogic. A Box that has a configuration that highlights its 128GB of storage, which includes Bluetooth 5.0 and Gigabit network connector to complete its configuration. At the moment the cheapest option we have with this new SoC in stores but we do not know how it will work at the level of software updates.
SoC, RAM and storage
The X88 King includes the powerful Amlogic S922X Hexa Core SoC, with 4 ARM Cortex-A73 processors capable of reaching 1.8Ghz + 2 ARM Cortex-A53 processors that reach 1.9Ghz. The GPU is an ARM Mali-G52 MP6 compatible with OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.0 that allows us to run powerful games like PUBG without problems as we have seen in some REVIEW. At the VPU level we have the Amlogic Video Engine processor with HDR, Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR10, HDR10 +, HLG, PRIME HDR support… We also have digital audio DAC integrated in the audio aspect. The RAM is 4GB LPDDR4 and the storage is 128GB eMMc expandable thanks to a microSD card reader that we have on one side.
Other features
As for wireless connectivity, the X88 King has WiFi aC and Bluetooth 5.0 At the interface level we have in the perimeter of the plastic box 1 USB 3.0 port, another USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet connector, SPDIF digital audio output, an HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm analog audio and video jack.
