This compact retro console is an updated version of the ANBERNIC RG556 that we saw recently. As engine we now have the powerful Mediatek Dimensity 8300 SoC that integrates as a strong point a powerful GPU for gaming. A machine that can emulate all 16Bit, 32bit consoles, Arcade machines and is supposed to be able to run some titles of the Switch 1. The operating system is Android 14 so we will have to use emulators for this OS or alternatives like RetroArch.

In this console we have soldered to the board the Mediatek Dimensity 8300 SoC manufactured in 4nm. This chip is an Octa Core with 1 ARM Cortex-A715 processor that reaches 3.35 Mhz, 3 ARM Cortex-A715 processors that reach 3 Ghz and 4 ARM Cortex-A510 processors that reach 2.0 Ghz. The GPU is a powerful Mali-G615 MC6 GPU with which we will have no problems when moving games and includes support for AV1 and HDR10. Finally, for artificial intelligence tasks we have an NPU APU 780.
The board also includes 12GB LPDDR5X integrated on the board. For storage we have 256GB UFS high speed and a micro SD card reader up to 2TB for storing games.

As we can see we have an AMOLED touch panel with OCA lamination with a size of 5.48 inches and resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The internal battery is 5500mAh capable of lasting up to 7/8 hours of gameplay depending on the power required. It recharges through a USB Type-C port with fast mode up to 27 W. For wireless connectivity we have high speed Wifi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
As for controls on the ANBERNIC RG557, we have a configuration with an analog crosshead, four triggers, start, select, reset and function key. The connectors we find a USB-C micro SD reader and 3.5 mm audio jack. This machine also has a vibration engine for compatible titles, gamepad support and two speakers.
