MediaTek has unveiled its first SoC to use ARM’s latest processors, the ARM C1 series: the MediaTek Dimensity 7500, which features the C1-Pro and C1-Nano variants.
According to ARM, the C1-Pro’s performance is up to 16% higher than that of the Cortex-A725, and its energy efficiency is 12% better. The C1-Nano functions as a “small core” and is the successor to the Cortex-A520. Although its performance improvement is unknown, its energy efficiency has improved significantly by 26%.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7500 is a mid-to-high-end chip manufactured on a 4nm process that includes 4 ARM C1-Pro cores clocked at up to 2.6 GHz and another 4 ARM C1-Nano cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G625 MC2, and it also features a MediaTek 850 NPU for artificial intelligence tasks. This new MediaTek SoC is capable of supporting displays with resolutions up to 1344×2800 pixels at a 144 Hz refresh rate and camera sensors up to 200 MP. It includes a 6-in-1 GPS, a 5G modem, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and supports UFS 3.1 storage and RAM up to LPDDR5X at 6400 MHz.
