We already have in stores the Waipu.tv Box that includes the new SoC Amlogic S905X5M, a processor that promises more power and capabilities.
This new box focused on the German streaming service Waipu.tv is released with an integrated Amlogic S905X5M of which we have already seen its specifications and that will also move the MINIX NEO U4K. A processor now manufactured in 6 nm and that promises to be 21% faster than its predecessor, the Amlogic S905X4. A significant increase in power that significantly improves this series of budget processors, we also have a new Mali-G310 GPU that doubles its graphics power.
The operating system is Android TV 14 with all the necessary DRM certificates to watch in maximum quality paid streaming channels such as Netflix or similar. It also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. We may see this SoC in the new Google TV Stick and other devices soon.
Waipu.tv Box Specifications
Inside this new certified Box we find the Amlogic S905X5M Quad Core SoC, manufactured in 6 nm. This integrates ARM Cortex-A55 processors with a power of 30K DMIPS and a new ARM Mali-G310 iGPU that substantially improves the previous Mali-G31 MP2. We have support for native decoding of H.265, AVS2, VP9 and AV1 codecs with resolutions up to 4K@75fps 10 bit, compatible with HLG, HDR10 and Dolby Vision / Atmos technologies.
We found several versions of this Box with 4 GB of RAM DDR4 and 32 GB of storage eMMc. We also found a micro SD card reader if we want to expand the memory by this method.
Other specifications
In the wireless connectivity section, we have in all its versions Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5. The connectors included in the plastic box are a USB-A port, USB-C charging connector (possibly OTG), Ethernet network connector and an HDMI 2.1 video output.
As usual, a power supply is included and a Bluetooth remote control that has a microphone to give orders with Google Assistant.
