The new retro console ANBERNIC RG CubeXX, a cheap version of the Anbernic RG Cube that costs more than twice as much, has just been released.
A console that maintains the 1:1 square screen format but with a totally different configuration than its predecessor. In addition to a slower processor and less RAM we now have LINUX as operating system booting from a 32 GB card. This version employs the Allwinner H700 SoC which is capable of emulating all 16Bit consoles , PS1, Arcade machines and is supposed to be able to emulate even some PSP titles.
As usual lately, we also have a pair of joysticks with an RGB halo lighting that we can turn off and customize in brightness and color.
ANBERNIC RG CubeXX Specifications
This new retro console is powered by an Allwinner H700 Quad Core SoC, a chip with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.5 Ghz and an ARM MALI-G31 MP2 GPU with support for video up to HDR10.
This console includes 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. For storage we have two micro SD card readers with support up to 512 GB for the operating system and store games.
Display and controls
As we can see, its display is horizontal, it is an IPS OCA with a size of 3.95 inches, 1:1 ratio and resolution of 720×720 pixels. The internal battery is 3800mAh capable of lasting up to 6.5 hours of gameplay according to the brand and is recharged by a dedicated USB Type-C port. For wireless connectivity we have Wifi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2.
In the controls section on the ANBERNIC RG CubeXX, we have a configuration with an analog crosshead, two joysticks, four triggers, start, select, reset and function key. The connectors that we find are a USB Type-C OTG, micro HDMI video output and 3.5 mm audio jack. This little machine also has a vibration engine that will work with compatible titles, gamepad support and a speaker.
