ANBERNIC RG40XX H, new Linux retroconsole with 4:3 display

Anbernic has retro consoles for everyone and to its already infinite variety is added the ANBERNIC RG40XX H, this time with a 4-inch screen and 4:3 ratio.

This retro console has a horizontal format screen with the Allwinner H700 processor lately quite common in retro consoles. It is capable of emulating all 16Bit consoles , PS1, Arcade machines and it is supposed to be able to emulate even some PSP titles.

We see that as it is fashionable lately the joysticks come with a ring with RGB lighting and are at the same level, for those who like it that way. As operating system on the ANBERNIC RG40XXXX H we have a Linux based system.

Inside the Anbernic RG40XX H console we find as engine an Allwinner H700 SoC with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.5 Ghz and an ARM MALI-G31 MP2 GPU with support for video up to HDR10 .

This console includes 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. For storage we have two micro SD card readers up to 512 GB for the operating system and store games.

Display and other notable features

The horizontal display of the ANBERNIC RG40XX H is an OCA IPS with a size of 4 inches, 4:3 ratio and resolution of 640×480 pixels. The internal battery is 3200mAh capable of lasting up to 6 of play according to the brand and is recharged by a dedicated USB Type-C port. For wireless connectivity we have dual-band Wifi aC and bluetooth 4.2.

As for controls, we have a configuration with an analog crosshair, four triggers, start, select, reset and function key. The connectors we find are a USB Type-C OTG, micro HDMI and 3.5 mm audio jack. This console also has a vibration engine for compatible titles, gamepad support and two speakers.
