The new AOOSTAR WTR MAX INTEL 1235U is now available as a mini PC NAS device that allows you to install up to 11 storage drives.
This mini PC NAS is a slightly more affordable version than the AOOSTAR WTR MAX INTEL AMD we saw a few weeks ago. It retains the same design, featuring a large-format chassis and a front LCD panel. It supports 7 removable SATA drives and up to 4 NVMe PCIe drives mounted directly on the motherboard. Powering the system is the efficient Intel Core i5-1235U processor, which is more affordable than the AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS but equally capable of running this hardware as a NAS or a mini PC.
Notable features of its configuration include two high-speed 10G Ethernet ports and two 2.5G Ethernet ports. It also surprises us by featuring an OCuLink port for connecting an external GPU.
AOOSTAR WTR MAX INTEL 1235U Specifications
This interesting NAS and mini PC features the Intel Core i5-1235U processor, manufactured on a 7nm process and with a TDP ranging from 15 to 55 W. This chip has 10 cores and 12 threads with a maximum speed of 4.4 GHz; two of these cores are high-performance, and eight are low-power. The iGPU is an Intel Iris Xe with 80 EUs. With this processor, you’ll have no trouble running any demanding design software or performing resource-intensive tasks.
As for RAM, we can install up to 92 GB of DDR5 4800 MT/s in SODIMM slots. For storage, if we add up all the drives using 4 TB disks, we could reach up to 77 TB in total.
Other features
For network connectivity, it features a Wi-Fi 6 adapter , Bluetooth 5.2, two 10 GbE RJ45 ports, and two 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports. The chassis also features 3 USB 3.2 ports, one USB Type-C, one USB4 up to 40 Gbps, one 64 Gbps OCuLink, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD slot, and two video outputs: HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4. In total, we have 3 simultaneous video outputs supporting resolutions up to 8K@60fps with HDR.
The AOOSTAR WTR MAX INTEL 1235U comes with an external power supply. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed, though you can install Linux or a specific distribution to use it as a file server.
