Surprisingly, Asus has presented its new Asus PN50 mini PC, its first motorized NUC type computer with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors. A brand that until now has always been faithful to Intel in this sector and indicates the strength that AMD is taking with Ryzen.
These small computers follow the design line of the PN family with a square case and various expansion options. The inclusion of the new AMD Ryzen 4000 APUs from the Renoir family offer us high power in both the CPU and GPU aspects. No doubt Intel is going to have to improve a lot and will soon present its new Tiger Lake processors with GPU Xe Gen12 and CPU cores at 10nm if it wants to compete.
Processor, RAM and storage
In the Asus PN50 range we will have versions with AMD Ryzen 3 4300U, Ryzen 5 4500U, Ryzen 5 4600U and the powerful Ryzen 7 4700U and Ryzen 7 4800U processors. All of them with the efficient Vega GPU optimized and with a consumption of 15W TPD.
They include two SO-DIMM RAM DDR4 slots to configure it in Dual Channel and in terms of storage we have options to mount an M.2 SSD and an internal 2.5″ disk drive in its SATA3 port. Within the small we will have a fan that takes care of keeping temperatures at bay.

Other specs
As for wireless connectivity we have a Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.0 adapter thanks to an included Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 adapter. The included connectors are 3 USB 3.1 Type-A ports, 2 USB 3.1 Type-C 10 Gb/s ports supporting DisplayPort video output, 3.5mm audio jack, and Gigabit Ethernet connector. For video, we have an HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort 1.4 connector with support for video resolutions up to 4K@60fps HDR. Note that these processors support 4K HDR streams for Netflix thanks to their certificates.
