We already have price for the new ASUS ROG Ally console, on the website of the Best Buy chain has leaked the information and will cost $699.99 in its version with the new AMD Z1 Extreme.
Undoubtedly a very competitive price that is sure to attract many users of the current Steam Deck. In the rest of the markets we will have to wait to see its final price, which will be much higher taking into account taxes and others. This new ROG handheld console will offer excellent performance thanks to its integrated RDNA 3 GPU. Theoretically, we will have two versions, the one with a very powerful Z1 Extreme and another more basic one with the normal Z1, of which we do not know the price yet. Along with the console will be included 3 free months of Gamepass Ultimate.
ASUS ROG Ally Specifications
The ASUS ROG Ally at the unveiled price offers us the new AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme with 4 nm FinFet process, with eight cores and 16 threads that reaches up to 5.2 GHz. This chip has a TPD consumption of only 15-30 W. The graphics solution is a Radeon RDNA3 GPU that integrates 12 CU with 768 Stream Processors up to 2800 MHz. Sufficient hardware to run very demanding games at 1080p with the appropriate settings.
In this console we have 16 GB RAM 16GB LPDDR5 integrated on the board. For storage we have a 512GB / 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD that we can replace with another one if we want.
Other features
As for display, we have a 7-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, with response time of 5 ms and power of 500 nits. This screen supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz, something that will consume quite a lot of battery. The battery is not yet defined, we are waiting for the may 11 where it will be officially presented.
Inside the console we have a dual cooling system combining two fans and vapor chamber. In the connectivity section we have WIFI 6.0 and BT 5.0. The measures are smaller than the Steam Deck of 298 x 117 x 50.5 mm with only 280 x 113 x 39 mm and also lower weight with 608 grams, almost 60 less.
